I have never been compiled to contact an author after reading a book, but felt compelled to do so after reading, "God, Is That You".

For many months I have struggled with some personal issues in my life, and all the while had an inkling God was pushing me in a direction. I have had many unexplainable things occur, but I have just poo poo them or tried to. I have had many more ? than I have had answered. I have visited and talked to many throughout the past year and half including my pastor and the Women's Bible Study group I joined last fall.

And then bingo, one afternoon, (in a hurry) went to the library to check out a book. Looked up the call number etc, and then proceeded to find the book. However the call number I was looking for was just a couple of books away from yours. There were many books in the area regarding God, Angels etc.

I was extremely puzzled because the book I was looking for wouldn't have been located in this area at all, maybe close, but not with the group of books I found. The title of your book caught my eye and I checked it out.

From the beginning, while reading your book, I found myself almost mesmerized by the comments, the questions, the thoughts you expressed throughout each chapter. They were the same ones I have been asking for months. I thoroughly enjoyed the book, and will continue to search for the answers I am seeking, only now I might be a little more prepared to listen a little more closely.

Just wanted to share. GOD works in mysterious ways. We just need to slow down and really listen!!

I have found myself in the biggest scariest mess that I could ever imagine in my 38 years of life. I am at a job that I completely hate. I have been a hair stylist for 13 years but let my license accidentally expire when I was involved with another career. Anyway, a friend of mine at work lent me your book," God is that You? I read it in 2 sittings, only because I fell asleep last night. I have begun speaking with God because of you. I have had 3 conversations since last night. It is hard to think that you are not answering yourself but I have faith in Jesus.

Today we had some financial problems and I asked God if I could please get my income tax return. This is what he told me.... "Today is the day". When I went down to mail box, there it was. I ran up the stairs and sobbed and thanked Him. It was the first "proof" so to speak, that He was talking to me. As for this turmoil I'm in, He has told me "You will be fine, be patient, have faith in Me. I will never let you down. I asked him to help me through this, and He said, I am sweet loving child, you will be okay safe from harm, keep your chin up, keep your faith in Me. I then asked him if it really was Him whom I was talking to, and His reply was, As pure as your breath, I am here. I am always here, have faith my love, please have faith. He told me that He promised that this was real. He told me that he loves me very much, that I am never alone, I will be safe and my life will be back to normal and happiness will fill my life once more soon.

Can I really believe this? Deep down inside I do, but it's new to me. If you could write me back, it would be so wonderful. Thank you for opening the lines up for communication. This is a whole new way to live. How special it is to think that I can speak with sweet Jesus!!! I feel I will get through this.

I was lead to a copy of your book, much in the same way I was lead to Neale Donald Walsh's books, and have found it to be a fantastic tool. I read it from cover to cover in one sitting and immediately started jotting down some questions, strangely I found this difficult, I had little to say.

But I soon discovered I was in full flow, having a real conversation with God...who was very witty I have to say. God seems to have very high hopes for me and it was emotional as well as inspirational.

Words are not enough to tell you how much meeting you yesterday changed my life! I couldn't wait until I got home to talk to God, so I gave it a shot on the drive home. 90 minutes later, I felt so connected with God it was unbelievable. Here are a couple of interesting things that happened:

I had been dwelling on your cute spider story when I remembered that at a healing workshop in October a lady told me that spiders were a message; she did not know what the meaning was, only that she should tell me. I had researched dream interpretation and even consulted a gifted friend and nobody could tell me a thing. Then, I asked God if your story about the spider was the message, I looked up and saw a bank sign flash "THANK YOU" then go back to showing the date and temperature. (I am on the edge of a big transition right now and am having trouble letting go of the old and trusting the new and the now. Your spider story definitely was a hit.)

Naturally, this was not enough, so I told God that I wanted my husband to call me on my cell phone for confirmation (my husband is deployed overseas right now). The phone did not ring and I felt like sure, I knew this couldn't be real. Then God said, "your husband will call you with good news tonight". The phone rang about 9:00 and I knew who it was, my husband told me to call a mutual friend who works with him and that she would have some news for me that he couldn't say over the phone. I told him that I had been *vibe-ing* him to call me on the cell phone earlier and he said, "I tried but the phones here won't connect to cell numbers". (My husband has been overseas for a while and was supposed to be home by now, but they routed him to another location. Now, he is on his way home!)

Katharine, please be encouraged and know that you are touching lives. Thank you so much for giving me the gift of listening. You truly are an angel!

Thank you again, Katharine. You have helped me find Joy that was so elusive before. And yes, God does have a sense of humor! I was told to look out my kitchen window to see something amazing. I looked and looked and looked again, seeing nothing I was confused and went back to my cooking and forgot about it. The next day I asked God, what was so amazing that I was supposed to see? God said "Everything! Isn't it all so wonderful?" What could I do but laugh.

I just wanted to touch base with you and let you know that I finally got around to finishing your book. I really enjoyed it. I have had so much going on, that I have just been reading bits and pieces at a time. I actually did sit down one night when I couldn't sleep and did the conversation on the computer. It was interesting and enlightening.

First I am grateful that you were kind enough to send me a signed copy. I met Ron at an internet marketing conference, and from the moment he showed me the cover, I knew that it was a very special book.

As a result of reading your book, I felt more confident about my ability to have conversations with God. I felt that I am worthy, and that conversations with the Creator are not off limits to me or to any one.

The real life examples weaved a web of self confidence that was further comforting. Many myths were shattered just through the personal and heartfelt accounts of those who converse with God regularly and what that is like.

I really liked the way the story about you and your mom was saved for the end. Yes, there is no death, and God is not in our lives for the purpose of punishment.

Some years ago, I discovered that I could have conversations with God, although I seemed to have graduated from the physical writing of his words. Just as you suggested, it is possible to converse with God on the level of "knowing". This level is very intimate and transcends using the pen and paper or the computer. Thank you for reminding me of this level of communion.

From the first moment I read the first page of "God, is that you" I couldn't put it down. In fact, after reading the very first page I laughed out loud. The star fish story was so simple, so complete, and so beautiful I called my Mom to read it to her. She laughed too. As did my wife. Monday next week I plan to send my copy home, so my Mom can read for herself. I know she'll treasure it as much as I have.

Katharine, you have such a gift. Whatever inspired you to write this book, and to render it so artfully; I'm sure it was heaven-sent. More than this, however, I'm very happy to have had the opportunity to receive this work from you personally. Thank your for the inscription.

Although languages around the world contain the word "accident", I've never believed in accidents myself. Neither do I believe in them today. Whatever brought us together, the internet, concierge, or [www.assistme.com], I am as grateful for having read your book as I have been for having read "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" when I was fourteen. As much as Richard Bach has, your words touched something in me I'm unable to express in my own words... but perhaps it's best this way. Some things are better left unsaid, unexpressed. But that doesn't mean they are not felt. Because they are. Very much.

Thank you for sharing some of the understanding you've doubtlessly found in your life. I'm sure it will make a difference for a greater audience than just myself. As you wrote on page 38, more and more, with each passing day, I believe too that "Love is everywhere". Becoming aware of it, I find, is Life's greatest gift of all. Sharing that gift with others, as you have in words, is the greatest confirmation of God that I'll ever need.

Congratulations to you on your new book. I began reading it last night and couldn't put it down. It is an easy read and very interesting. I think you may have something there. I mean it. I really like it so far. I can identify with some of the examples people gave of realizing they could speak to God and that He is not some unreachable being.
